Child Therapy

Child therapy is known to help kids cope with, and overcome life stresses. For children, significant life events such as the death of a family member, friend, or pet; a divorce, a family move/relocation/change of schools, physical abuse, sexual abuse, verbal abuse, neglect, trauma, a major illness in the family can cause stress that might lead to problems with behavior, mood, sleep, appetite, and academic or social functioning.

Signs that your child may benefit from seeing a therapist include: developmental delay in speech, language, or toilet training, learning or attention problems, behavioral problems, a drop in grades at school, social withdrawal or isolation, episodes of sadness, tearfulness, or depression, is a victim of bullying, overly aggressive, sudden changes in appetite, not speaking, problems sleeping, mood swings, skipping school, an increase of physical complaints despite a normal physical exam by your doctor, signs of substance abuse, sexual, physical, or emotional abuse, exposure to traumatic events.
